Exactly Lee, there's even talk he wont make the final 23. He's only been named in the provisional 31 man squad.

Re: Gokhan Tore
Bilic should know if he is worth 17m. I am not going to feel sorry for the Dave's, the 85m prem money and OS influx of cash means they will get shafted (along with everyone else I might add).

It is our most important 1st season in the OS, so we need to get top quality in and hopefully never look back, besides it can only get even worse next year with a further prem increase and everyone being impressed with the new stadium. Must keep the momentum. We're not in a position to wait too long as in previous seasons and miss out.

Isn't he banned for the first 2 matches at the Euros? He might not get the chance to shine that much.

If he does well at the Euros he's going to cost even more.

Re: Gokhan Tore
Sounds as though this is happening... will be a great signing for us and I'm sure he will go straight into the first team.

Perhaps he will play on the left with Antonio on the right? That combination should terrorise defences.

Our problem last season was injuries, so the deeper our squad the better.

I was originally very luke warm about Benteke and Bony but perhaps our best bet is to have great depth... we got into trouble when we ran out of match fit forwards... the ones we have (Carroll & Sakho) are fine when they are match fit but as we know that was a rare occurance.

What about spunking Ł40m on Benteke & Bony (both proven PL strikers) rather than that amount on one player... keep Sakho & Carroll as well and we should have at least one decent striker available at all times!?

Strikers:
Carroll
Sakho
Benteke
Bony
Martinez

AM:
Payet
Lanzini
Antonio
Tore
Samuelsen

Re: Gokhan Tore

Called a legend by Slaven. So good enough for me.

West Ham are close to signing Besiktas star Gokhan Tore for a ÂŁ12 million transfer fee in what would become the first transfer from the Black Eagles to the East London based club.

The transfer would also make the first Besiktas player to follow Slaven Bilic to the Hammers. So who exactly is Tore and what would he bring to West Ham?
1. Slaven Bilic Relationship

Tore burst onto the scene as one of the brightest talents in the Chelsea academy before following former Blues sporting director Frank Arnesen – who first spotted him – to HSV Hamburg. After an impressive start the explosive winger was struck down by a series of injuries before being sold to Rubin Kazan in Russia. Tore failed to settle in and found himself at Besiktas in 2013 on the verge of becoming one of those players that was supposed to make it but never did. Under the stewardship of Slaven Bilic, Tore got his spark back and established himself as one of the most dangerous players on and off the field – he was famously involved in an altercation with a national teammate which resulted in a gun being drawn. The 23-year-old scored a career high eight goals and provided 11 sides in Bilic’s final season in charge including impressive performances against Tottenham and Liverpool in the Europa League.

Bilic has never made any secret of his close bond with Tore. “Gökhan is a legend he is a top guy and a great player of course I would love to have him in the team,” he said in an interview with the Socrates magazine.

“I tried to sign him at the start of the season but it was not the right time.”

2. No stranger to London

Tore spent his teenage years in London developing his game in the Chelsea youth academy. The Turkish international is no stranger to Premier League football and what is demanded from a top club in the top flight. The young winger would have no problem settling into life in the city having already lived in the capital and having a special relationship with Bilic.

3. Raw Talent

There is no denying that Tore is one of the brightest talents in Turkish football. Tore possesses explosive pace as well as great technique and dribbling ability. The 23-year-old will miss the first two games of Euro 2016 due to suspension but is so highly rated by Turkish national team head coach Fatih Terim that he has still been included in the squad solely for the final group game.

Exactly this, with Europe next season the discussion should be does he improve the squad, not the first 11.

Re: Gokhan Tore
Not sure why people are insistent about where he will or won't be playing. With Tore in the squad it means we have four very good attacking midfielders who all can probably play across any of the three attacking midfield positions. It will be about who is in form and the opposition we are up against. Also superb knowing that, if he does sign, we won't have to take a step down in quality when one of our better players is injured or rested.
